Using Dynamic Dates
What are Dynamic Dates?
In contrast to a normal date period (e.g. June 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016) the dynamic date is always relative to the current time. This allows you to select a more intelligent date.
Dynamic dates also come in handy for automatic reports that are scheduled on a regular basis. This way you don't have to go into the report set up and manually change the dates each time your report is sent or downloaded.
You can locate the smart search in the date selector at the top right hand corner. Our common dynamic dates that you can see directly in the tool are:
- Last 7 days
- Last 14 days
- Last 30 days
- Previous week (Mon to Sun)
- Previous Month (July 2016)
- This Month (August 2016)
If you wish to have a more complex date like 'last 3 days' or 'this quarter' you can just type it in to the smart search (you can use any number of days, weeks, months). Make sure to press enter to populate it. You will immediately see the dates change in the calendar. Another great dynamic date for daily reports and to keep a close eye on the data is the -1day, +1day dates.
I suggest you have a play around with the date selector and find the dynamic dates that fit your needs!
